Andrea d'Aquino, PhD

Postdoctoral Scholar, Department of Materials Science & Engineering, Stanford University

Andrea's research interests lie at the intersection of chemistry, biology and engineering. She is currently focused on developing novel biomaterials for therapeutic applications and is motivated to address the growing need for more effective drug delivery technologies. Andrea received her PhD in chemistry at Northwestern University and is leveraging her background in synthetic and supramolecular chemistry to develop and apply next generation drug delivery systems for the treatment of diseases that are among the most chronic, costly, and consequential to society. She is currently working as a postdoc in the Appel lab at Stanford University, where she is leveraging supramolecular hydrogels for improving treatments for type 2 diabetes.
