Stanford Islet Biennale (Nov. 30 - Dec. 1, 2026)
The Stanford Islet Biennale is a bi-annual meeting dedicated to islet transplantation and replacement for diabetes. This intimate, landmark event will fill a critical gap by providing an international platform to address emerging topics. The meeting will bring together thought leaders to discuss unmet needs and initiatives, and summarize these insights to inform future clinical trials. Key focus areas will include immune tolerance, salvage therapy for stage 2 and early-stage 3 type 1 diabetes (T1D) to preserve beta-cell mass, development of replacement islets, and innovative scientific opportunities for islet replacement in patients with non-autoimmune forms of diabetes.
Stanford's beautiful venue offers a compelling backdrop for convening a focused group of experts to collaborate on developing renewable sources of islet cells and advancing clinical trial opportunities for subjects with T1D and non-T1D. We believe this vibrant gathering will foster collaboration and drive significant advances in clinical diabetes treatment.
