Kevin Schulman, MD, Professor, Department of Medicine, Associate Chair of Medicine, Director of Industry Partnerships and Education for the Clinical Excellence Research Center (CERC), Stanford University School of Medicine, Professor (by courtesy) of Economics, Stanford Graduate School of Business

Research Description: Dr. Schulman’s research interests include organizational innovation in health care, health care policy and health economics. Information technology offers the potential to address all three dimensions of the triple aim-reducing cost, improving the quality of care (across all six NAM dimensions), and improving access (for the under-served as well as through enabling a whole new suite of economically attractive prevention and behavioral tools). Machine learning and computer vision offer yet another set of tools to provide benefits to patients. Dr. Schulman was the cofounder of the Health Record Network Foundation, an early proposal for a personal health record data architecture, dedicated to building consumer undersanding, acceptance and demand for personal electronic health records. At Stanford University, Dr. Schulman has started a new Master’s of Science in Clinical Informatics Management.
