Mark McGovern, PhD, Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Stanford University
Research Description: Since January 2007, I have served as a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, and by courtesy, the Department of Medicine, and the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine. I am the Director of the Stanford Center for Dissemination & Implementation (CDI), which is the hub of three national implementation research centers including the NIH/NIDA P50 Center for Dissemination & Implementation at Stanford (C-DIAS), the NIH HEAL NIDA HD2A Research Adoption Support Center, and the US DHHS Center for Mental Health Implementation and Sustainment. As a senior implementation scientist, I lead these national centers, mentor numerous early career researchers and trainees, and serve as a MPI, co=investigator, and consultant on grants and contracts across the NIH, covering a wide range of diseases and intervention modalities. My diabetes related project here at Stanford is with Dr. David Maahs and team on the scaling up of the Stanford 4T approach to 15 T1D centers across the US. I am the father of two children with T1D and have personally experienced the challenges and burdens kids and families face. I hope to play a small role in improving care and the long term quality of life for persons with T1D.
