Research Description:  My lab investigates the role of B cells, antibodies and EBV in autoimmune diseases, with the goal of translating our findings into next generation diagnostics and therapeutics. We have a pilot grant to sequence B cell repertoires and EBV+ B cells in T1D. T1D is an autoimmune disease. EBV is associated with multiple autoimmune diseases including MS, SLE, and RA. We are proposing to investigate whether EBV might play a role in T1D by sequencing EBV+ B Cells in T1D.
